NEW DELHI: The Modi government is going to launch a new airline based out of Guwahati which would connect all state capitals in that part of the country, a move that's going to give a big fillip to connectivity in Northeast India. 

NEW DELHI: Pawan Hans has firmed up plans to launch regional flights with fixed wing aircraft , including seaplanes, even as the state-owned helicopter operator prepares for an initial public offering that may happen next year or the year after that.

Indore: Pawan Hans Ltd will operate helicopter service to Ujjain during Simhastha, beginning from April 22. The company had approached the state government for starting the helicopter services during the Kumbh and received an initial sanction.

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and Pawan Hans Ltd (PHL) today signed an MoU to establish a joint venture firm to carry-out maintenance work related to all types of helicopters and address the needs of defence and civil markets in India and other countries.

The Meghalaya government today decided to extend the helicopter services operated by Pawan Hans in the state by another six months."The transport department had put up for extending the term for another six months under the same conditions. So the cabinet agreed to the proposal," Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, who chaired the cabinet meeting, said.

At a day-long seminar titled "Make in India: Challenges and Opportunities in Civil Aviation Sector" held here, stakeholders from the sector stressed on the need to develop such service centres in India.

Helicopters will soon ferry gamblers and well-heeled tourists from the Goan mainland to offshore casinos equipped with helipads, while also providing connectivity between the state capital and other tourism hubs and the airport.

NEW DELHI: The government has agreed to convert Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited's loan of about Rs 131 crore to equity in a step towards facilitating an initial public offering of the state-run company.The conversion of the loan, given to the Delhi-based helicopter company in 1986, to equity will lead to an increase in the government's stake to 69 per cent from 51 per cent at present. The rest 49 per cent is owned by state-owned oil company ONGC Ltd.

GUWAHATI: PSU chopper operator Pawan Hans is keen to start services in the near future to South East Asia and Bhutan from here.
The company is also looking to expand its services in the north-east as part of its plans to develop Guwahati as a helicopter hub.
"After establishing connectivity among all major places in the north-east, we will explore possibility to start our services to neighbouring countries and south east Asia," Pawan Hans General Manager (Eastern Region) Sanjay Kumar told PTI today.

NEW DELHI: State-run chopper operator Pawan Hans is likely to invest Rs 1,500 crore for improving the air connectivity and give a boost to tourism in north-east region.

Pawan Hans, pioneer in off-shore helicopter operations in India, will make Guwahati in Assam as its hub for development of the region under a proposed 'hub-and-spoke' model and will also set up engineering training and helicopter pilots training institutes in the region, company sources told PTI.

The model aims at feeding to scheduled airlines and address the viability issues in a systematic manner within the region and a detailed plan in this regard is expected to be unveiled shortly, they said.

Pawan Hans Ltd signed an agreement with BSNL for utilization of cloud services. PHL is the first organization under the Ministry of Civil aviation who opted for Cloud Services which means organization is moving away from a traditional CAPEX model (buy the dedicated hardware and depreciate it over a period of time) to the OPEX model (use a shared cloud infrastructure and pay as one uses it) thereby saving huge cost on maintenance. Kolkata: The West Bengal government on Tuesday introduced chartered helicopter services from the Behala flying club in Kolkata to six destinations in the state.

State-run helicopter operator Pawan Hans today said it will commence a daily air-passenger service for the pilgrims to Kedarnath Yatra from next Monday at a minimal fare.

In a move to promote Goa as a more attractive tourist destination, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is revamping the tourists’ paradise. SRINAGAR, July 11: A critically ill Yatri was evacuated by helicopter yesterday from Zojibal and brought to Pahalgam on the directions of Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. Kavita, a Yatri from Andhra Pradesh, fell critically ill and was advised by doctors to be immediately shifted to Pahalgam for further medical assistance.

Hyderabad: Eurocopter, has delivered seven new (Dauphin AS 365 N3) helicopters to Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd, one of the largest helicopter operators in India. With this, Pawan Hans would expand its fleet to 33 Dauphins to become the biggest fleet of Eurocopter helicopters in the country and the company would be the largest Dauphin offshore operator in the world.
